Waterloo Hunter Goes Berserk At Sweets Marsh
A Waterloo man on parole went berserk while hunting at Sweets Marsh on Saturday afternoon firing at duck blinds and threatening two Tripoli youths and two others. He held a shotgun to a youth head and to another person’s stomach before being overpowered and placed in a straight jacket for psychiatric evaluation in Independence.

Rites Held Today for Waterloo Woman Accident Victim
Funeral services were held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church Waterloo for Mrs Andrew Carstensen 73 who died Sunday at Allen Memorial hospital from injuries suffered in a Saturday automobile crash. The Cedar Falls incident at Hudson Road and Highway 57 left her with a fractured skull. Her husband 76 is hospitalized. Surviving are a son Leslie Waterloo four daughters and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was born April 3 1895 in Sumner to William and Stena Buenger.

Bremer county volunteer savings bond chairman reports that new legislation allows redemption of Freedom Shares at banks qualified to redeem series E bonds. Previously all Freedom Shares were sent to the Federal Reserve Bank for redemption. New rules make Freedom Shares a better companion to series E bonds with post June 1 1968 issues earning 5 percent compounded semi annually to maturity in four and a half years.

Boeckmann opened scoring with a 77 yard gallop but Tripoli trailed 13-7 at halftime.
