Gerald Lund outlined widening 93 in stages with two bridges already rebuilt, two by Plum Creek and Buck Creek, and two over the Wapsipinicon ready by November 1977, while a Sumner bridge would close about three months. The plan aims to 36 foot wide spans for safety and load capacity, with curbing removal possible later. A local by pass was sought, pending District Engineer Darrell Campbell’s decision.

Public meeting to discuss keeping road open to traffic

Federal Revenue Sharing Totals Near 3 Million for Third District
U S Representative Charles Grassley announces nearly 3 million dollars will be shared this month to Third District Iowa local governments. The 2 988 000 payment is the 17th under a five and a half year program ending in December, bringing the district total to about 41.8 million.
