Survived by wife Mary Zander Hankner, three daughters Mildred Ambrose Phyllis Eichmann Dorothy Syverson, son Robert, five grandchildren, two sisters Anna Hale Emma Moehling. Readlyn VFW Post No. 5661 received a citation and plaque at the Third District meeting in Hampton for being the first Iowa Department post to exceed its 1956 membership quota. Funeral Here Tuesday For William Bany 92 Pioneer Resident
Funeral services for William Bany pioneer resident of this community were held at St Peter's Evangelical and Reformed church with Rev E F Puhlmann in charge. Burial followed in the church cemetery with casket bearers named. Bany died Friday at age 92 after a long illness in Franklin Nursing Home near Philadelphia. He was born September 9 1864 in Sherrill's Mound Dubuque County Iowa and lived on farms near Klinger and in Tripoli before settling near Landsdowne Pa later in life. He leaves a son a grandson a granddaughter and three great grandchildren all in Pennsylvania. He was known as a fisherman fruit grower and craftsman and a long time member of St Peter's church in Tripoli.

Robert Fagenbaum is confined to Sumner hospital after a combine accident Saturday afternoon. He fell from a tractor and a combine ran over him. Extent of injuries is not known, but he suffered severe lacerations and is in considerable pain.

Heifer from Kalona to Bremen Germany for relief
A purebred Holstein heifer purchased by St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed Church as part of Heifer Project Inc was taken to Kalona by E A Kleiss and Fred Holm with other heifers to be shipped to New York and then Bremen Germany on Oct 17 for distribution to needy families.
