Three Men Charged in Beating of Federika Man
Three area men face charges of assault with intent to inflict bodily injury in Bremer County District Court. Logan Harms Curtis Neuendorf and James Harmening are accused of beating Robert Lauer of Federika on Federika main street about 2 am November 9 after Lauer attempted to call the sheriff from a phone booth. A shotgun was fired into the air during the confrontation and Lauer sustained injuries requiring hospital treatment.

Tripoli Fire Department assisted Sumner firefighters at the Ernest Mohlis farm home fire around mid morning on November 19. The fire started in a pile of corn cobs in the basement, spread through both floors and broke through the roof before being controlled. The structure was severely damaged.
