Grace Church Seeks Clothing Donations For World Relief
Grace Church runs a Thanksgiving clothing drive for Lutheran World Relief to noon Saturday. Donations, including burlap sacks, may be left in the Grace Parish hall Tower room. Garlands Awarded 15000 Settlement After Iowa Crash
Mr and Mrs Walter Garland of Iowa Falls received a 15000 out of court settlement in a civil suit against Dr Frank Haffa of Waterloo over a March 10 1954 crash on Highway 63 near Denver. The Garlands sought 41854 36 in Black Hawk county court.

Iowa highway 63 to get widening and bridges in 1956 plan
The Iowa Highway Commission announced the 1956 primary road setting program. Highway 63 will be widened about 18.4 miles from its junction with Highway 3 to the south junction of Highway 18 and three bridges on the route will be widened. Letting dates are December 13 1955 for the road and May 1 1956 for the bridges. A separate project may grade Highway 346 from Highway 63 to the Little Brown Church near Nashua with a Sept 18 1956 letting date.

Schield Addresses Commercial Club on African Trip
Wilbur Schield of Waverly spoke at the Tripoli Commercial Club about his Africa journey with color slides. The club planned free community movie nights on December 10 and 17 with Santa Claus, and voted to buy a new suit for St Nick. Decorations for downtown streets have been ordered and will go up soon. Funeral Service For Mrs Henry Schultz At Waterloo Today
Funeral services were held today at Kearns Dykeman Funeral Home Waterloo for Mrs Henry W Schultz 82 mother of Mrs Lee Pocock of Tripoli. The Rev Charles Luce officiated burial was in Fairview Cemetery. She died Sunday at Schultz Memorial Hospital Waterloo of complications of advanced age. She was born August 20 1873 near St Ansgar Mitchell County and married Henry W Schultz November 10 1892 at St Ansgar. She lived in St Ansgar Stacyville and Waterloo since 1910. She was past president of the Daughters of the American Revolution and member of Grace Methodist Church Outlook Circle and Women’s Society for Christian Service. Survived by son Earl Waterloo daughter Pocock brother A H Kuehl four granddaughters and seven great grandchildren. Preceded by husband 1933 her parents three sisters four brothers and a granddaughter.

Grant Grove Farm Fire Causes $12000 In Damage
A fire at Grant Grove farm three miles south and one half mile west of Tripoli caused about $12 000 damage to buildings including a barn hay and grain, cattle shed and pump house. Tripoli Readlyn and Denver fire departments responded with wind complicating efforts. Denver helped fill water tanks while other aid was not needed. Grove had bought the farm last year and built the corn crib this summer.

A consent judgment in St. Louis circuit court awarded Mrs. Gertrude Guenther of Denver 60000 in damages for injuries from an auto truck collision near Pittsburg Kansas on February 15. Her suit against Southwest Freight Lines sought 115000 after her husband and mother were injured and killed.
