Readlyn High School Gathers Largest Graduating Class
Readlyn High School will graduate 27 students the largest class in its history. The list includes Edna Soet Roger Deterding Shirlee Ganske Robert Hagenow and many others. Baccalaureate is Sunday at 8 p m at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. E Jacobs and Rev. Erich Dornbusch assisting. Commencement is May 15 at 8 p m in Readlyn Community building with speaker Dr. John Haeffner. Eighth grade diplomas will be awarded May 17 at 2 p m in the school gym. Class day exercises are May 8 at 9:30 a m in the gym with awards and final report cards, followed by a picnic in Readlyn park.

Funeral services were held at Peace Evangelical and Reformed church in Waverly for Fred C. Peters 81 who died Tuesday at his Denver home. Born December 25 1874 in Bremer County he married Bertha Grebien in 1896 and lived in Bremer County most of his life before moving to Denver in 1955. Survived by Bertha four daughters a son and a sister.

Frederika Seniors Begin Graduation Activities Week
Frederika High School confirms 11 seniors will start graduation events this week led by Supt. Gus Cosman. A junior-senior banquet and dance occur tomorrow night at Hotel Mealey in Oelwein followed by a Sunday sermon at St. John’s Lutheran. The main address will be delivered May 17 in the high school gym by Judge George Heath. The all-school picnic closes the calendar on May 18. Three Persons Fined On Traffic Charges In April
In April three persons were fined on four charges in May or Rudolph Piegers court. Lloyd Beevers of Tripoli paid $5 and costs for failing to stop at a stop sign. Verlyn Walter Bull of Tripoli faced $25 and costs for careless driving and disorderly conduct. Billie Thomas Johnson of Sumner was fined $25 and costs for reckless driving. Information on the first two cases was filed by Assistant Town Marshal Paul Kuethe and on the third by Town Marshal Ed Bany.
