Mr. and Mrs. John Heidemann marked their 55th wedding anniversary with a Sunday event at the town hall attended by 75 guests from Elma Waterloo Cedar Falls Readlyn Tripoli Fredericksburg Sumner Waverly and Denver. A three tier cake iced white with green and yellow trim featured the number 55 and mini wedding rings. The couple, who moved to Denver five years ago, were married May 6 1897 at Maxfield Lutheran Church by Rev. Paul Bredow and have one son Albert at home.

Wins Singles Event At New Hampton City Bowling Tourney
Mrs. Robert Fink of Tripoli won the singles championship in the 1951 52 ladies city bowling association tournament concluded at New Hampton on Sunday. Fink led by 33 pins with a 588 series after strong second and third games in her first year of league bowling. Sumner Bakery captured the city team title by 29 pins with a 2521 series, team members Mabel Boderman La Vonne Schultz Genevieve Meier Elaine Reimler and Agnes Gade. Fractured skull injury sidelines local baseball player

Relatives report Dale E Grahlman 22 son of Mr and Mrs Ernest Grahlman San Pedro California formerly of the area has spent 12 months on Kwajalein Island as a Navy storekeeper. He trained in San Diego and recently became a Petty Officer third class. He was home last August for his brother’s funeral. A native Iowan, he came to San Pedro in 1948 and after nearly two years in the service has about three months remaining on Kwajalein.
