Lake City student Sheldon Petersen earned a special award for outstanding individual excellence in radio news announcing at the Iowa high school speech association state contest last month. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Petersen.
Multiple gatherings report weekend visits among Hassman Pratt Nieces and nephews attended birthdays and confirmations. Attendees include the Specht and Bergmann families, Sells and Niemeyer clans, and towns Sumner Waverly Tripoli Fayette Nashua.
Members of the Jaycee Ettes met at the VFW home to plan a joint installation with a definite date this month. A school babysitting plan and a contribution to the Heart-Land Fund were discussed. Officers to be elected include President Mrs Meyer, Vice President unknown, Secretary Augustson, Treasurer Kuethe, with state Mrs Richard Meye among those listed.
