Jer Bremer Telephone Co plans to convert the Tripoli exchange to dial operation with a tentative cutover in October 1964. Frederika already switched to dial in March. A new building east of the Dime-a-Time Laundromat in Tripoli will house the dialing equipment. land negotiations with J. M. Snyder are underway. Plinfield’s cutover is planned for October 1965. No rate increases anticipated.

Lynes to Be Rites at Waverly Church Saturday
Funeral services for W L Lynes will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at First Methodist Church Waverly with burial in Lawn Cemetery Plain slow geld. Masonic services will be at 8 PM Friday at Cleveland chapel Waverly. The body will be taken to the church Saturday noon from the Cleveland chapel. Lynes a five term veteran of the State House of Representatives served as Speaker in the 54th and 1h General Assemblies. He was a drainage engineer before retiring to a farm north of Waverly. He also consulted for Mason City Brick and Tile Co for 35 years. Surviving are his widow two daughters Jean Lynes Bemidji Minn and Mrs Boyd McDaniels Emmon Grove Cal one brother Leonard Plainfield four sisters Mrs Wise Winfred Lynes Phoenix Ariz Mrs Delbert Sheppard Waverly and Mrs Harold Squires San Monica Cal and three granddaughters.

Mr and Mrs Emil E Buchholz observed their silver anniversary with a 430 pm dinner at their home. Hosts were their children Mrs Edward Brandt Darrel and Roger. Guests from Tripoli Fredericksburg Denver Fairbank Frederika Sumner and Waverly. The couple were married April 24 1938 at St Peter Evangelical church Tripoli by Rev Theo Thomas. They have four children one granddaughter Kimberly Ann Brandt and have farmed on the same farm since marriage.

Tripoli to Disinfect Water System with Chlorine
Tripoli's Town Council and Mayor Barnes order the water system cleaned and disinfected starting 3 p.m. Thursday May 2 through 6 a.m. Friday. Residents should drink water ahead of the period as chlorine will be strong. Mayor Barnes says drinking water remains safe. The move is a precautionary measure following similar flushing in October 1962.
