An organizational meeting of a citizen's committee to study possible school reorganization will be held at the school auditorium Friday night at 7 p.m. Representatives from rural districts and local civic groups will form a study committee to assess valuation pupil numbers costs plant needs and financing. The move follows a Feb. 9 meeting with about 100 interested residents and rural district representatives.

Graveside services were held Monday at Wayland for Jane Lee Rosenthal infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Douglas Rosenthal of Wayland. Born March 19 she died Sunday evening of a defective heart. The Rosenthals also have a son Jeffrey aged 18 months.

Wapsie Sportsmen's Club Plans Picnic Ground and Events
The Wapsie Sportsmen's Club voted at its regular meeting to convert part of Kid's Fish Pond into a picnic area with a fireplace and tables and to sponsor Kid's Night in April and Ladies' Night in May. Mr and Mrs Fred Harms celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in Denver with 150 guests at St John s Lutheran church Maxfield. Dinner for 75 relatives followed by an evening of honors with assistance from Ladies Aid members and nieces and grandchildren as table waitresses. Hearing Tests For Bremer County Students Next Month
Public school children in Bremer county in grades three six and nine will receive hearing tests in Tripoli and Waverly on April 4 5 and 6. The program directed by R C Gaard and Vanetta Suydam, with local superintendents Shri ver and Haehlen, is part of Iowa Department of Public Instruction special education services. A follow up screening will occur about a month later, with tests conducted by trained technicians Dale Bingham and Beatrice Phelan. The service is free and aims to detect and prevent hearing issues early.

Tripoli grocers and Tripoli Canning Co Inc promote National Canned Corn Week with special canned corn values. Governor Hoegh proclaims March 21 to 26 in Iowa noting corn as a staple crop. Thieves Break In Tripoli and Frederika Schools
Thieves broke into Tripoli and Frederika schools on Friday night, taking $24.25 from Tripoli including $20.28 activity fund, $1.97 library fines, and $2 in a billfold. They pried open office drawers and filing cabinets, leaving a dime as a trademark, and overlooked about $270 in cash and checks.
