Tripoli high school music department under Harold Frese will present its first spring band concert next Tuesday March 8 at 8 p m in the high school auditorium. Regular admission. The Wapsie Sportsmen's Club met at the Town hall with 19 members present. It set June 19 for a Kid's Fish Day and proposed a county fishing contest from March 1 to December 1. Funeral services were held Friday at the Horton Baptist church for August J. Wilharm 78 who died February 23 at Mercy Hospital Waterloo after a lingering illness. The Rev. Fred Molkenthim officiated. Burial in St Peter's Evangelical cemetery with casket bearers Lewis Dietz Harley Dietz Carroll Smith Richard Karasch Charley Donloy and B Konarske. He was born November 10 1876 in Old Tripoli and moved to Tri Poli with his parents. A blacksmith by trade he lived in Horton for 25 years. Survived by wife two sons Ivan Schaller and Everett San Angelo Texas two stepsons Calvin Ferris Waterloo and Chris Wille of Waverly a stepdaughter Mrs Leo Mogensen Los Angeles two grandchildren two great grandchildren two sisters Mrs C B Kelsey Tripoli and Mrs F L King Waterloo and two brothers Richard and Arthur Waterloo.

A three person immigrant family from Berlin arrives in Iowa and will reside on the Wm Zabels farm north of town. Adolph Kwizan 51 Frieda 46 and son Manfred 16 fled West Prussia in 1945, sailed from Bremerhaven Feb 16 on Neptune, reached New York Feb 28, then to Oelwe on a Wednesday morning to meet Grace Lutheran pastor Rev Goetz. Manfred aims to start American high school. Adolph plans to adapt farming methods and hog feeding to U S practice with new opportunities in Iowa.

Two Youths Escape Serious Injury In Crash
Two Tripoli youths suffered only minor injuries after a Tuesday night crash on Highway 63 near the county line. Driver Paul Allen Bang, 16, had hand lacerations and cuts, while William Heffernan, 15, sustained a bruised back and arm with lacerations. The 1948 Ford rolled over several times after leaving the road on a wide curve as Bang dozed at the wheel, then landed upright in a field.

Funeral Tuesday For Mrs G J Ackerman Tegtmeier Relative
Funeral services for Mrs George J Ackerman 68 of Route 3 Waterloo were held Tuesday at Western Avenue Gospel Hall Waterloo. Burial was in Dunkert on cemetery. She died Saturday night at St Francis hospital of cancer after a long illness. She was born Ida Tegtmeier December 12 1886. She leaves husband four sons three daughters two sisters five brothers and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
