Barbering Pioneer Reinhardt Bunger Retires After 50 Years
Reinhardt J. Bunger, age 70, ends a fifty year barbering career with his last day on June 26. He began in 1926 in a wooden frame shop at the Buhr lot, moved to the current location two years later, and served three years in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He married Helen Kelley in 1945 in Ft. Smith Arkansas. Helen taught kindergarten in Tripoli before retirement and died in 1974.

July 7 Swine Production Clinic Set
An area wide Swine Production Clinic will be held at the Northeast Iowa Swine Testing Station in New Hampton on July 7, 1976. Emmett Stevermer will speak on boar and gilt selection. Swim Lessons For Area Youth Starts Monday
Swimming lessons for Tri poli and Frederika area children begin Monday July 5 at the Waverly Pool. Frederika bus riders meet at 9 a.m. at the Frederika Fire Station. Tripoli students in the 10 a.m. class report to the grade school by 9:15. The 10:45 class by 10 a.m. and the 11:30 class by 10:45. Mothers may ride as chaperones.

Readlyn area youths ages 9 to 14 will take part in nine CRD sessions July 6 to July 15 at Readlyn City Park. Grave side committal services were held June 26 for Roseanna Jean Pencil, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Pencil of Denver. The baby, born Friday evening, died shortly after birth. Survivors include maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Edwards of Ft. Dodge and maternal great grandmother Mrs. George Johnson of Ft. Dodge. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Fred Lehman officiating. Cleveland Funeral Home had charge of services.

Tripoli Boys Rally Past South Winneshiek 8-3 in Baseball
Tripoli High boys earned their second win of the season with an 8-3 victory over South Winneshiek. Dave Alcock earned the mound win with seven strikeouts and six hits allowed, while Kevin Kuhrt and Paul Schneiders led the hitters with multi hit efforts and 2 RBI for Schneiders.
