Edward Howard Wilson, nine, son of Morris and Mrs. Wilson, living three miles south and one mile east of Readlyn, died after a .410 shotgun discharged while he tried to hand it to his 15-year-old brother Kenneth during a hunting trip. Kenneth summoned help from the Ray Thoms farm, but Edward had died before aid arrived.

Arthur Wilharm, 68, died Monday at his Cedar Rapids home. He was born December 21, 1891 in Tripoli, son of Christopher and Mary Wilharm, and was confirmed at Spring Fountain Lutheran church. Survived by sister Mrs. Emma Kelsey of Tripoli, sister Mrs. Frank King of Cedar Rapids, and brother R. E. Wilharm of Cedar Rapids. He was an Army veteran of World War I.

Clem Schroeder Dies at Home in Ossian in Jan
Clem J. Schroeder, 56, a former Bremer county resident and Tripoli businessman, died at his Ossian home on Monday Jan. 18 apparently from a heart attack. Born Jan. 17, 1904 at Ossian, he married Esther Mundt and leaves two daughters Gwendolyn Dull of Waterloo and Karen Ney of Ossian. Funeral services were held Thursday at St. Francis de Sales Ossian with burial in the church cemetery. Six nephews served as pallbearers: Richard and Robert Schulte, Norbert Gableman, Cletus Lansing, James Giesing, and Mark Lechtenberg.
