John C Fink Jr of this city celebrated his 79th birthday with a family dinner at the Fink home on Sunday January 23. Children grandchildren and great grandchildren attended along with relatives from Readlyn Waverly Oelwein and Bremer. The 79 candle cake was made by his daughter Mrs H C Frese of Waverly. Funeral services for Mrs Corda Pearl Brown were held Monday January 22 at two oclock in the Methodist Episcopal church. Rev George W Turner officiated. Interment was in Wilson Grove cemetery. Born June 9 1896 in Illinois she married George Brown in Cole county Illinois September 27 1913. She died Friday January 19 in Iowa City at age 37. Surviving husband two children Richard Clinton and Dorothy May of Sumner her father one brother and a sister in Illinois.

Mrs Carolina Klemp Dies at Readlyn
Mrs Carolina Klemp died February 20 at 7 p m at the home of her son Carl and family where she had lived for many years. She would have been 85 that February. Surviving are four sons Fred of Sumner Will Henry and Carl of this vicinity. Funeral services were held today at 1 from the Klemp home and 1 30 from St Matthew s church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev C Meyer officiated.

Two 17YearOlds Plead Guilty To Hunting Without License
Kenneth Keller and Wendell Bruns pleaded guilty in district court to hunting without a license. Judge M F Edwards imposed parole with monthly reports to attorney L H Racker and state representation by County Attorney Renoldt. Parole requires church attendance and abstaining from liquor. Mrs Jesse Sweet sustained severe dog bites on both legs while walking downtown and received immediate medical care. Mrs Etta Baskins was admitted to University Hospital Iowa City for chronic throat trouble.
