Mercy hospital hosted its annual Rohlf birthday clinic with about one hundred out of town doctors attending on January 5. Fifteen operations were performed, with many cases deferred to later in the week. Notables from medical groups in Iowa City Rochester and Des Moines spoke or assisted, as did Dr Channing Smith of Granger and Dr West of Des Moines. The banquet at Hotel Fortner featured a castle shaped cake by Mrs McDaniel of Nashua.
