Five general, six plumbing and heating, and six electrical bids were submitted, each in two forms under PWA rules and standard practice. Rebholz & Drape led general bids with 40,789 for A and 34,998 for B. Carstens Brothers topped heating and plumbing with 7,847 A and 7,600 B. Erwin Peterson led electrical with 2,470 A and 2,395 B.

Mrs. Fred Poehler Dies of Pneumonia
Mrs. Fred Poehler, 63, died Saturday of pneumonia. Funeral services were held Monday at St. John s Lutheran church with Rev. C J Mardorf officiating. Interment in Lutheran cemetery north of Sumner. Survived by husband, two daughters Mrs Alfred Erkel and Mrs Carlton Huebl, two sisters, three brothers, and five grandchildren. Born in Germany, she came to America at age 12 and settled on a Dayton township farm before moving to Sumner in 1918.

Des Moines reports the Iowa corn loan program accelerates with over 700 sealers and 100 warehouse boards, projecting near 50 million dollars completed. Local Bank Under New Deposit Law
The American Savings Bank joins the Temporary Insurance Fund of the FDIC insuring all deposits up to 2500 until July 1. Death of Mrs Henry Bahmeier of cancer
Victim of cancer Mrs Henry Bahmeier died at her home after a long illness. She had not left the house for about a year. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical church with Rev G A Stauffacher and Rev P W Pfaltzgraff officiating. She is survived by her husband two daughters Mrs Clara Baskins and Mrs Esther Butler a son Carl Bahmeier of Minneapolis and a sister Mrs Thies. Burial was in Harlington cemetery.

The Tripoli Independent School District sold two residences and barns purchased from Mrs. H. Bunger and Mrs. Fred Kuhr at public auction for 729.50. A. H. Panzer bought the Bunger residence for 430 and the barn for 60. The Propp house went to August Bunger for 197.50, and the barn went to Rebholz and Drape for 42. The properties must be moved by February 1 to clear space for a new high school.
