Rites for the Crash Held Today
Services for Readlyn residents were held today for Audrey Jean 24 and her two children aged 4 years and 19 months who died in a north Readlyn car crash this afternoon. The tragedy occurred when an oncoming vehicle sideswiped and struck their car, killing all three instantly. The victims include Mrs Audrey Jean Strottmann of Waterloo and her husband Ernest Poock, with reported parents and siblings among the local community.

Final Rites for E. Shriver Held Former Supt Here
Eldon R. Shriver 61 former Tripoli Com munity schools superintendent from 1950 to 1961 died Saturday at Maquoketa hospital after a stroke two weeks earlier. He served as Jackson county superintendent the past seven years and earlier led Garrison and Keosauqua schools. Survived by wife Elaine and two sons. Private services held. Body willed to University of Iowa and eyes to its eye bank.
