Cedar Falls Paul Diamond and his brother Sam, operators of the Diamond Brothers Coffee shop, were found guilty by a three man three woman jury of unlawful sale of fish. Justice John Bornsen will pronounce sentence today. A December 23 raid by Game Warden John Jago found white carp served as "whitefish" at the counter. The Diamonds also run a chain of twenty grocery stores in northeastern Iowa.

Mrs Leslie Vogt three miles northwest of town fractured the small bone in her right leg after slipping on a kitchen floor Monday. Dr Stegeman reduced the fracture and she was taken to the home of Mr and Mrs Henry Vogt in Waverly to recover with their two small children.

William Roe longtime superintendent of the Waverly light plant and streets died Sunday at 1 a m from a heart blood clot. He served 26 years at the electric light plant and helped manage streets. Born February 15 1872 at Monti Buchanan county Iowa he is survived by a widow two daughters Helen and Mrs L E Wendt two sons Harold and Joe six sisters and two brothers. A high mass of requiem was held December 30 at St Marys Catholic Church in Waverly.

Surprise silver wedding at Bockhaus home
Frederika special reports the silver wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. H C Bockhaus celebrated December 23 at their farm home. About forty five families were invited by their children and a surprise gathering greeted the couple on return from visiting their son in law Herman Bergman. Dinner was served at six with a large silver wedding cake as centerpiece. The couple received a purse of silver and silverware.

Boy Hit By Auto Near Fritz Grocery Store

Man arraigned on assault with intent to injure
Howard Hall of this city was arraigned before Judge M F Ed wards in District Court last week on a charge of assault with intent to commit great bodily injury on Dr C E Moodie chiropraetor of this city. Hall was charged with going to Moodie office Sunday morning December 13 and striking him and accusing him of friendship with his wife. Moodie and Leonard Racker were the only witnesses before the Grand Jury. Hall was indicted and placed under 1000 bond. The case will be heard at the January term.
