By month end the Bremer County Tuberculosis and Health Association drive totals to 401.46 dollars. Mrs G R Rettig, local Christmas Seal Sale chairman, notes the brother and sister on the 1956 seals will be remembered for their contribution as the drive continues to find funds for case finding health education and patient services in the nationwide tuberculosis control program.

Hagenows to Observe 40th Anniversary Near Bremer
Mr and Mrs John Hagenow will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with an open house near Bremer on Sunday from 2 to 4 p m and 7 to 9 p m at their farm home. Christmas Program at Public School Honors Mixed Chorus
A large crowd attended the Christmas program at Public School last Wednesday night. Students from all grades and the high school mixed chorus performed a pageant titled A Christmas Pageant World Meant to showcase carols sung by multiple grade levels with solos from Caroline Kehe and others. The program featured three episodes with roles for shepherds, monks, and kings, and included performances by seventh through eighth grades, kindergarten, and first through third grades, concluding with group carols and a duet.

Funeral services for Herman W. Milius 79 were held Saturday at Matthias Funeral home and St John s Lutheran church Maxfield township with Rev Wm Barrack in charge. He died December 12 at his home east of Denver of a heart ailment. Burial was in Fairview cemetery Denver with six pallbearers named. Born January 4 1877 he never married.

Lumber Yard Office Damaged by Blaze Late Saturday Night
Hasbrouck Voetmann Lumber Co suffered about 200 dollars in damage after a fire damaged the east wall of the main office late Saturday night. The fire was spotted by Mrs. Robert Selck from Tripoli Cafe across the street. Tri Poli Fire Department crews entered the office and used a extinguisher before a fire truck arrived. The blaze, started near the wall, could have spread if not for early discovery and a southwest wind.

Final Boundaries of Sumner District to be Set Jan 7
Final boundaries for the proposed Sumner Community School district will be decided at a joint meeting of Bremer Chickasaw and Fayette county boards in Waverly at 8 p m on Monday January 7. Objections were heard December 5 leading to removal of land from the district leaving about 131 sections. If approved the district would be among the state's largest area. No objections in Bremer. all removed land is in Chickasaw and Fayette. A district vote is expected in late January or early February.

Merchants Urged to Submit Tickets for Year End Drawing
All tickets for Saturday's drawing must be in individual boxes at each business by 2 30 p m. Merchants should bring their ticket boxes to the large drawing drum at the bank corner no later than 3 p m. This is the last drawing of the year and all unused 1956 tickets must be included to be eligible for a prize.
Christmas prize draw closes yearlong club promo
The Commercial club ends its Christmas promotion with a final prize draw where only one prize per person is allowed and attendees must be present to win. Last Saturday over 500 kids flocked to Tripoli theatre for free movies, Santa, and treats. another large crowd is expected this Saturday as residents finish shopping and enjoy parking and courteous service. Santa letters are printed in this issue and sent to the North Pole.
