Miss Ruth Elizabeth Dalrymple of Villa Grove Illinois married Mr Oscar Hankner of Tripoli on August 5 1932 in Paducah Kentucky. Rev J F Claycombs officiated at First Presbyterian Church. The bride is secretary in the University of Illinois appointments office. Hankner, Tripoli High School graduate, taught at UI and earned a M S Ed in 1933. He is a member of multiple honor frats. They will depart September 1 for New Orleans where he becomes Director of Athletics at the Newman School.

County 10 gets $43,000 for roads projects
Bremer county officials and a state highway commission delegation met in Ames and Des Moines to secure federal aid of 10 million dollars for three Bremer county road projects. Allocations include 25,000 for Bremer avenue repairs in Waverly, 15,000 for an overhead bridge north of Denver on primary 59, and 3,000 for bituminous paving from the Lutheran church on primary 10 into Readlyn. Additional projects for Fayette and Chickasaw counties were noted with paving hopes on primary 93 and primary 18.

The Tripoli Canning Corporation will begin its annual sweet corn pack this week. Checkers review plantings and the first run is set for Thursday or Friday afternoon. Weather affects yield as hot dry spells hit some fields while recent showers may boost production. over fifty workers will be employed for three to four weeks depending on conditions.

Thelves entered Siegel Creamery last Friday around midnight and stole $12.32 in receipts from cheese sales kept in the office. Entrance was gained by breaking the door latch. Bremer County 4-H Club Fair Opens At Waverly Grounds
The Bremer county 4-H club fair runs Tuesday through Thursday August 22 to 24 at the Bremer county fair grounds in Waverly. The event, backed by the Bremer county fair association officers, aims to showcase farm projects with sixty colts, over sixty dairy calves, ten beef heifers, and more than one hundred market pigs and poultry. Club girls plan bread exhibits and demonstrations in the floral hall, while a large alfalfa exhibit invites entries of a ten pound bale plus a three inch bundle for judging.

Eli Gish, a lifelong resident of the county seat, died at his home on Thursday at age 75 of heart trouble after months of illness. Born September 25, 1858, he leaves two daughters and two sons from his first marriage. Surviving are Claude Briden Cedar Falls Mrs. H D Grawe this city Alva Kelley Washington and Nellie Hanschett Chicago. His second wife, sister of Henry and Phillip Schell, died earlier this year. Funeral services were held at Kaiser Funeral Home and burial followed at Harlington Cemetery.
