Funeral services for Miss Mary Hatch age 68 died at her home west of Sumner were held at the M E church. Rev P P Pease officiated and burial followed at Wilson Grove cemetery. Hatch taught primary grades in the area for 10 years and had long lived in her birthplace. She is survived by two brothers Anson and David Hatch three nieces Mrs Henry Maurer Ella Hatch Anna Hatch two nephews Howard and Frank Hatch and a host of friends.

Mrs. Caroline Theilman, an Elma resident for 35 years, died July 15 1931 after a four year illness. Born May 19 1843 in Meissendorf Germany she immigrated with her family to Bremer county Iowa in 1871 and later moved to Elma. Survived by sons Henry and William Webbeking several daughters grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral held July 18 at St Peters Lutheran with services in German and English.
