Schmidt Wins Twice at Waverly Racing Meet
Jockey Dale Schmidt of Tripoli rode two winners in the Sunday program at Waverly. His victories included Ragtime owned by Walter Sommer of Tripoli in the four furlongs race, time 50 4/5 seconds. He also won the four and a half furlongs aboard E. R. owned by Reagen and Aphy of Hampton. He placed second in the three other events.

Three Men Fined In Mayor's Court During Last Month
Three men were fined in Mayor Rudolf Piegers court for July traffic violations. Jack Frese paid $2 fine and $1 costs for overtime parking in a 15 minute zone. Readlyn District Second Boundary Hearing Set in Waverly
A second hearing on Readlyn Community School district boundaries is scheduled for 8 p m on Wednesday September 7 at the courthouse in Waverly. Bremer county Supt R C Gaard said the meet will finalize the district lines after a joint Bremer and Black Hawk boards session reduced the district by about five sections and excluded voters choosing other districts. Objections must be filed by noon September 7. About 125 people attended the prior hearing, with many objectors from the district outskirts.
