Readlyn Falls To Tripoli In High-Scoring League Contest
Tripoli defeated Readlyn 12 to 8 in a free hitting game with seven first-inning runs. Gehrke homered after a bad outfield bound, Diekman, Belknap, and Fergeman drove in runs, and Simpson belted a homer for Tripoli. Readlyn tied in the third but Tripoli pulled ahead and held on as Wittenberg relieved Diekman. Readlyn leads into next week with Nashua and Sumner also in the chase.

In Tripoli Old, Mr and Mrs Louie Gaede were surprised by relatives and neighbors on Sunday July 29 marking their silver wedding anniversary from Wednesday July 25. Guests included sons Erwin and Edwin and many Kukers and Meiers from nearby towns. Rev Hanff spoke at 2 30. afternoon featured visiting, horseshoe pitching, and a basket dinner. A silver purse and a set of dishes were presented to the couple by family members.

Mrs Carl H Eichmann formerly of Tripoli died at her Cedar Falls home on Saturday July 28 after weeks of illness. Born June 8 1883 in Bremer county she married Carl H Eichmann in 1904. Funeral at St Peters Evangelical church with burial in its cemetery. Rev Theo Thomas officiated.

Campaign to stamp out bovine TB in Bremer county grows
The Waverly Independent reports 2,500 reactors found from about 10,000 cattle tested through July 28. From June 23 to July 14, 329 herds and 7,019 cattle were tested with 1,719 reactors. Weekly totals include 82, 361 reactors. 91, 514. 67, 343. 89, 501. The county shifted funds to TB efforts and federal aid covers about $20 per reactor, with the county paying about $6.70.

Fred Schultz Mauled by Holstein Bull Near Bremer
Fred Schultz a farmer living near Bremer was attacked by a Holstein bull while driving cattle to new grazing grounds. He toppled and mauled before crawling through a fence. Rudolph Kohagen found him and carried him home. Noon examination found no broken bones but injuries remained to be assessed.

Mrs John Schmidt 66 Dies of Heart Disease at Home
Victim of heart trouble Mrs John Schmidt, 66, died at her city home after a three-day illness. Born January 7, 1868 in Cook county Illinois, she is survived by her husband, three daughters Mrs Minnie Luloff of Waverly, Mrs Irwin Franklin of Clarksville, Mrs Bertha Meyer of Tripoli, and one son Herman Shauer, plus several grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at St Pauls Lutheran church at 2:00 led by Rev R C Schlueter.

Sumner Teacher Cleared as Sane in Insanity Case
At a two day hearing by the sane commission of Bremer county Miss Mayme Delahery of Sumner was found sane. The insanity charge was brought by her father Thomas Delahery. Many Sumner residents testified in her defense. Delahery has been a successful teacher for several years in nearby schools.
