Enrollment stands at 1782 with 19 new faculty welcomed. campus expands facilities and humanities emphasis.
Sharon TLC crowned Seawolf and LBJ atop floats at Tri State College's Fall Festival. Ralph Lindholm and Gary Van Sky Hook won the canoe race in 1 hour 13 minutes 45 seconds, each earning $100. Sigma Phi Delta won most beautiful float with a model Seawolf submarine. Alpha Sigma Uhi earned honorable mention for 500 Race theme. Second place went to Paul Fournier and Larry Davis, each $75. Other prizes went to Stephen More Malcolm Green, Charles Smith, and Gordon Wyandt with $50 to $25 awards.
Student Council at Campus Hill starts organizing next quarter's Winter Carnival. President Graig Hess led a motion to begin plans and committee assignments for Snow Sculptures dance queen and related tasks. Members to return tentative organizational notes and theme ideas by November 8 in Room 253.
Hill campus announces Student Council elections with petitions due by 5:00 p.m. November 8 to Dean Scott. President and Secretary posts require specific qualifications, petitions from 7.5 percent and 5 percent of the student body, and major-offices rules. election days set for November 10 primaries and November 17 actual voting, with Hess commending student clubs and festival organizers.
The U S Civil Service Commission announced the 1966 Federal Service Entrance Examination open to college seniors and graduates and those with equivalent experience. It offers 60 career fields including personnel management general administration economics social security administration tax collection and more with starting salaries from 5000 to 6050 a year. A written test is required with five tests scheduled and the closing date April 19 1966. Management internships with higher salaries may be filled from this exam, closing January 19 1966. In Indiana major opportunities exist in social security administration tax collection wage and hour investigation electronic data processing and personnel management with tests offered in several Indiana cities.
