Master’s Degree Urged for Prospective Engineers
An ASEE goals committee proposes making the master’s degree the first professional engineering credential, replacing the bachelor’s as introductory. The plan would convert accreditation to engineering college level and shift emphasis from specific curricula to the field as a whole, with implementation targeted in five to seven years.
