Counterfeiters Run Down In Chicago Suburb Bust

Federal agents captured Gustave Miller at Harvey and James Hite in Chicago as part of dismantling a long running counterfeit operation. The ring produced hundreds of fake dollars at a Harvey plant hidden in a field two miles from Miller’s home, with officials uncovering acid, metal shavings, and a cache of about one hundred counterfeit silver dollars. Authorities say Ford Williams Miller and “Fat Jim” led the gang, with Porter Gallagher and Deputy Marshal Cope instrumental in the investigation.
