Notable Blizzard in Town's History in 04
The Star Clipprer of Dec 30 1904 recounts a severe northwest storm that began with rain and sleet, intensified into a blizzard, and produced zero to ten below temperatures. It crippled rail traffic, blocked highways with 10 to 12 foot drifts, and disrupted rural mail delivery. Dysart businesses faced deep snow near doors, while workers faced perilous conditions as they hauled livestock through the storm.
