In Indian valley on the sixth Frank Marks Berry was killed resisting arrest and Dave Harper was wounded as cattle raiders stole horses. Constable George Woods and a posse halted the men who drew guns. Murder and Suicide Pact Shocks Leavenworth

In Leavenworth Kansas the bodies of a man and a young woman were found in a National hotel room with gunshot wounds to the head. A note from the woman to her mother said they planned to die together and be buried together with the same preacher. The man left a message for his brother in Kansas City.
