Goebel Shot in Frankfort as Senate Session Opens
Senator Goebel was shot at 11 this morning while walking toward the senate chamber. A single bullet struck him in the right side and passed through his body. doctors doubt fatal consequences unless complications arise. Harland Whittaker of Butler County, Kentucky, is jailed on the shooting charge. Governor Taylor orders the Kentucky General Assembly adjourn to London Kentucky for Feb 6 1900.
