Lightning Strikes House. Dog Killed During Storm

A morning thunderstorm struck the chimney of John and Mrs. Anderson’s house near the Broadwater hotel. The bolt split the chimney, melted stovepipe caps, and split boards along two paths to the foundation. The lightning hit a dog on the porch, instant death, while a woman was unharmed. The electric railway wire also burned a generator armature, delaying cars briefly.
