The Twenty first Kansas volunteers arrived from Lexington Kentucky. The first section reached at four o clock and the last at five thirteen. Seventy two sick, including twenty two with typhoid fever, were carried. Citizens provided coffee and sandwiches as the regiment marched to camp led by Colonel Fitch. School children with flags lined the streets. The sick will be sent to Topeka then home as they recover.
