London Oct 16 Edward Langtry husband of actress Lily Langtry died last night in the asylum for the insane at Chester where he was recently committed by a magistrate. He was found wandering helpless near the asylum and it is supposed his concussion from a steamer gangway fall as he traveled from Dublin to Holyhead contributed to his death.

New Orleans reports nine new yellow fever cases with no deaths up to the hour. Mobile, Alabama, also reports seven new cases with no deaths. Discharges include John Delaney, Mrs. Mehler, Miss McDonald, and Sylvester Age.
Galveston Texas October 16 The local Board of Health officially declared no yellow fever in Galveston and no danger from infection. State Health Officer Swearingen stated he would lift quarantine upon such declaration and will likely do so today.
