Three Wormer brothers executed in Clinton prison
In 1891 the Van Wormer brothers and Burton Vatl Wormer were carried from their cells to the electric chair at Clinton prison. The three men were executed within about 15 minutes after the current was applied, after Father Belanger and Father Charbonneau administered last rites. The event followed a long legal fight and Governor Odell had refused clemency despite appeals.
