Honor to the Nation's Dead at Topeka Decoration Day
In Topeka veterans from Lincoln Post and Fort Pillow circles led a morning march to Topeka cemetery to decorate graves of Union dead. Women from Lincoln Circle arranged flowers and wreaths, while a large evergreen monument bore the inscription honoring the noble dead. A firing squad from Old Abe Camp and a battery detail followed, with schoolchildren sending flowers to the graves and a solemn service conducted by Chaplain G. E. Dun.

Memorial Day Observances Across Towns Honor Fallen Soldiers
Comrade J. M. Miller urged dedication of memorial towers to those who died for country while a three shot salute echoed. Decorated graves, prayers, and a luncheon followed at Lincoln Post hall. Hamilton hall hosted services with Woman’s Relief corps, veterans’ descendants, and means of remembrance. Speakers included J. H. Lamb and J. P. Wallace. Newton held memorial exercises at Exat Park with music and prayer.
