The legislature plans to adjourn between four and five in the afternoon as most members depart. Only three or four senators and about a dozen representatives remain. The governor has reviewed all bills except the miscellaneous appropriation bill. Once Lim receives and returns that bill, adjournment sine die will end the lingering session.
Mrs H Perry of Buffalo New Jersey, mother in law of President Cleveland, arrived in Omaha with her husband to investigate a report that Secretary Morton claimed the Fulsom property in Omaha was a corrupt inheritance. An 1891 speech quoted Morton defending corrupt ancestors in Nebraska history. An exchange with Cleveland is anticipated after Folsom Perrine completes its research.
Nat Goodwin’s two month binge disrupts a Park theatre Wednesday night during The Gilded Foot. He faltered in the first act and refused to continue as Colonel Sinn explained a sudden ailment. Earlier he drank cherry colored fluid since Saturday and spent time at the Waldorf. a sidewalk dispute with Lorillard Kip ended peacefully after a ten minute standstill.
Bonns March 8 the committee of the reichstag rejected 18 to 12 the section making it liable to a fine of 610 marks and up to two years imprisonment for openly attacking religion monarchy matrimony family or property in a manner endangering public peace. The blasphemy amendment failed with only eight members supporting. The centrists proposal to remove the pulpit paragraph was adopted.

He defends American citizenship and civil court trials for Sanguilly Aguirre Canillo and Peraza, says he would resign only for family but will protect Americans while in Cuba. He cites the 1877 convention and rejects being bullied.

A Caracas dispatch says President Crespo issued Venezuelan passports to the French and Belgian ministers. The move follows claims in an Italian green book that French Belgian German and Spanish ministers in Venezuela attacked the republic’s institutions and urged a mixed foreign tribunal with jurisdiction over European matters.
In heavy fog the steamer Longfellow of the Cincinnati Memphissed New Orleans Packet Line lost course near a Chesapeake and Ohio bridge pier and sank. Seven crew members are missing while 26 cabin passengers were rescued by Hercules Catroll. one passenger, a lame man named Aldrich of Cleveland, remained unaccounted for. Crew missing include the clerk, Captain J Lawrence Carter, a second mate, and three roustabouts.
In equity court Charles Glasscock sued Carrie W. Glasscock with Senator Stewart of Nevada named as corespondent. The suit claimed improper relations and blackmail collusion by husband and wife. Stewart denied the charge and the case was dismissed after originating in August last.
Attendance at the Baltimore conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church rose from opening day. Devotional meeting led by Rev Keen of Cincinnati. Treasurer Ric Cornélius reported Preachers' Aid Society assets include Consolidated Gas and Baltimore Traction stock, plus bank stock, about $1,000 received in the year and a $46,000 balance.
