Nelson left for Emporia to address a salary suit involving H. E. Fletcher and Soldier township, verdict for defendant after a long jury deliberation. Martha Harrison sues Masonic Mutual Benefit for 2000 in district court. Harrison was insured and vanished in March 188_. Mary E Graham reported a stolen or lost gold watch in a Kansas avenue store between Fourth and Fifth. she lives in Carbondale.

In Atlanta Georgia March 1 1893 Joe Dean a colored man who murdered A B Leigh a Campbell County farmer for his money was hanged at Fairburn in a private court ordered execution. A crowd of about five thousand tore down the gallows fence and the man was hanged twice the rope breaking the first time. He spoke from the courthouse steps admitting the murder saying money ignorance and the devil compelled him.
Gover nor Morrill acts with Senate leaders to amend the bill creating the appellate court to remove constitutional issues. Gov St John presses for a nonpartisan, amended measure. appointments delayed as talks proceed and a decision looms on whether the law will stand.
The board of walking delegates called out 500 to 600 workers at the Hotel Savoy annex and the Astor mansion sites in New York this morning in sympathy with electrical workers. Richard O Gorman, eminent Irish nationalist scholar and orator, died at his New York home aged 75.
