Dodge City July 11 The Globe Republic an reports John Collingsworth former Topeka man in charge of the Palmer house was invited by the city marshal to leave town after accusations by his wife of brutal beating. He departed with police escort amid a stormy scene and a declared intent to quit Dodge City.

The Santa Fe runs full schedules on main lines and branches, with westward lines and connections restoring service. some routes and the Union Pacific near Lawrence remain limited. Main lines between Topeka, Kansas City, Denver and El Paso regain regular service. Rock Island and other railways coordinating with Santa Fe.

In Las Padillas New Mexico a posse led by Sheriff Ed Newcomer surrounded a house where three men accused of cattle theft were holed up. A street shooting killed Constable Joseph Padilla and wounded one of the suspects before the trio escaped into the house. Gunfire continued as the prisoners and mob exchanged shots.
