Caretaker’s Doorway to a City Romance Mystery
In a seaside town Pounderby shelters Charles Kell, ex Port Elizabeth police, with his distant cousin Connie Prest the art school teacher. A break in at the Pounderbys’ empty house draws Kell into a nocturnal pursuit and a tense stand off with intruders. Connie proves brave and resourceful aiding Kell as police close in and verify his authority. A later note from Streatham’s Art School hints at a continuing bond.
