Miss Frances E. Willard spoke in Janesville Wisconsin recalling her lifelong wish to visit her childhood home and describing the visit as a potential lifetime event. She then grew faint at the pulpit and was assisted from the platform, later revived with water in a waiting room. In Stoterville West Virginia on January 4 a Porter Thustebout aboard the Hob Batt steamship fell into the river from a private Second Mass car en route to Pittsburgh. The train halted and Pete Maxwell Bob Anderson William Foy and Frank Foy were removed from the car. Andersen and Maxwell are dead. Injured victims may die. Razors knives and a buoy used.
Cipetnmutl Jan 4 The Tes says Win M Green of the B and C will retire from the position to succeed Bob Calloway as president of the Wicker Plaza Railroad company.
Pittsburg January 4 reports the men at the 16 inch mill at Homestead Carnegie Works refused to accept the new scale of wages and have struck. All other departments carry on in full operation and the plant remains idle only in that mill while negotiations continue.
Early this morning a drunken dispute at a residence led to police being summoned to arrest a brother after a quarrel escalated to property damage. The intoxicated man was taken to the station to sober up. Police questioned the involved parties but believed inconsistent statements were made about the events.
