A drunken gathering near Sixth and Seventh streets led to a fight as Henry Graber was beaten by Harry Pradahan. Patrolman Parcells nabbed Bradshaw for assault and battery and detoured him to jail. Graber plans to press charges as the scene broke up in a chaotic beer bash.
The Bryan party departed Lakewood at 7 20 AM aboard the steamship Ceylon for Chautauqua. A stop at Bemus Point had crowds boarding the dock and shaking hands with the Democratic nominee. Mrs Bryan avoided the crowd but cheers greeted the vessel as it neared the jetty.
Canton Colorado August 21 Among thousands of congratulatory messages Major McKinney receives a missive from W G Alcorn of Dubuque Iowa praising his letter of acceptance. The writer commends the governor for his temper style and unanswerable in state ment noting especially the money question.
Charles Reinhart a draughtsman and illustrator of international reputation died yesterday at the Players' club in this city. Born in Pittsburg in 1844 he worked for Harper Brothers in 1870 and spent six years in Paris earning medals for his art. He established a studio in this city in 1878 and was a member of the Academy of Design. Funeral notices follow for Mrs. H. M. Lee, Leavenworth, who died of consumption and leaves a husband and two children.
Miss Mary Bush of Pomeroy Kansas, shot through the head here Saturday by her paramour John Hurtig of Countrs Station, died this morning without regaining consciousness. Her mother was with her at the end. The body was shipped to Pomeroy for interment tomorrow.
Stevens, vice chairman of the national silver party campaign committee, says Illinois Minnesota and Michigan likely to support Bryan. He notes growing sentiment in Ohio and plans for a Chicago September 23 non-partisan silver clubs convention with Senators Teller and Du Bois and others to rally Republican members.
