War on Whisky Trust Approaches Price Fight

Independent distillers threaten to slash whiskey prices to force the whisky trust to honor the original agreement. A conference will be held at the trust offices with major US distillers, led by John Poole of Cincinnati, to push for output restrictions and a renewal of the 12 million gallon annual and specific sell volumes arrangement. If talks fail, independents from Kentucky and Cincinnati plan a bold move to flood markets and resist the trust, potentially sparking a broader anti trust battle.

No Foundation For Sensational Georgia Warren Case In North Topeka

The Atchison Globe reports Georgia Warren known as the human frog was not kidnapped but taken by her brother to Atchison and left with Mrs. Freeman in Park Place for a week. Mrs. Freeman could not care for her and she has been moved to St Joseph en route to the poor farm. Georgia, forty six, is paralytic imbecile but can still talk and recall thirty year old events. No basis for the Topeka paper’s sensational story. The sister in North Topeka reportedly blamed the mystery to a false ping.
