Accidental Shot Blows Out Eye of Tombstone Youth

A 13-year-old, Arthur Lamb, son of Road Overseer Lamb, injured by a shotgun explosion while experimenting. He fired a 22 caliber cartridge, causing severe facial burns and loss of the right eye. His mother rushed him to Douglas for specialist care as doctors plan removal of the shattered eye. Several unrelated local incidents are mentioned in passing.

A Flagstaff dispatch reports Lowell Observatory astronomers found more water vapor in Mare’s atmospheric surround. An epedotograph by Observer Slipper measured values showing presence of water vapor and oxygen in the atmosphere, stronger than prior plates.

Despite prior doubts over heavy rainfall, Simmons anticipates a splendid yield with little rain expected next month. Examination to be Held at Tombstone Schoolhouse

County School Superintendent HE Stover announced that regular quarterly teachers’ examinations for ground and third grade certificates will be held at the Tombstone schoolhouse on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 6 and 7.
