A miner named Mike Kelly, formerly of Tombstone, was killed near the Hole Brook area in Bisbee when struck by an EP&SW yard engine after finishing a shift. He walked along the railroad track by the smelter with his head down shielding dust, and the engine passed over him, killing him almost instantly. Three boys found him. one is in jail in Santa Fe. Kelly lived on Alla Street between 10th and 11th streets in Tombstone.
