Rodolfo Bojorquez a Mexican man walked Lent and Congress streets carrying a full grown Gila monster. He was accompanied by two children who showed no fear as the reptile writhed seeking a bite. Bojorquez sought a buyer for his dangerous prize naming Juarez as the target city.
Senator Smith of the public lands committee reported favorably on the Ashuret bill to authorize an enlarged homestead act in Arizona with access to sufficient water for domestic use. The measure aims to expand settlement and land use under federal regulation.
Postmaster General announces a circular for Tombstone depositors of the Postal Savings System. By June 1, 1912, depositors may exchange all or part of their deposits for United States registered or coin bonds in $200 $100 and $500 denominations. Bonds bear 4 percent per year, interest semi annually, redeemable at the United States’ pleasure one year after issue, with 20 years of interest in gold coin.
