Removal of County Seat Battle Between Tombstone and Douglas
A Bisbee Review summary reports a Douglas and Bisbee chamber meeting seen as biased in favor of moving the county seat to Douglas. The piece questions legality and cost, urges a mass Bisbee response by April 15, and critiques proposed bonds tied to a courthouse, arguing the move is tied to wartime funding. The letter-worne account implicates real estate interests and lenders urging a $500,000 bond, and alleges the drive is aimed at securing money for a courthouse to influence the war effort.
