Arizona Labor Law Challenge Tests State Hours Rule
The Dominion hotel of Globe asks the Arizona Supreme Court to grant a writ of error to appeal a lower court decision on the state labor law limiting women to eight hours per day and about 40 hours per week. It argues the law is arbitrary and discriminatory for excluding dining houses and restaurants, and that applying it violated the federal constitution. If the US Supreme Court grants review, it could invalidate the statute.
