Nine applicants took the examination held yesterday by the Arizona board of pharmacy in Douglas. Fred Pletshman of Tucson and Kr Huxtable of the city supervised at the public library. Eight men sought full pharmacist status and one, Harold Fort, applied as an assistant. The candidates were RAL Perry, C. W. Carlisle, Waldo Routhagy, G. W Shelton, Carl Farrar, J. Ruble, F Koonts, and George Warin. Most reside in Douglas and vicinity.

The Florence Blade reports the fabulously rich Ward mine in Arizona has been rediscovered after decades. Abe Encinas and Juan Ward, while with Lorenzo Cruz, located the old Ward property in the Red Hills near the valley, with ore samples showing copper and silver richness triggering renewed prospecting and claims.

Shriners to Build $100,000 Temple in Phoenix

Zaribah Shrine confirmed plans for a $100,000 temple on North Central avenue near the School of Music. A lot owned by the Shrine will host the new building, with bids to be requested soon and a dedicated construction committee formed to oversee the project.

Depnix P Hickey a Co Chise county resident for eighteen years died in his Lowell room from pneumonia contracted days earlier. Born in Ireland he came to Bisbee via California and ran the dry goods department for Machomich Mercantile Co. He was a Bisbee lodge member and well known in Tombstone where he previously lived. No interment plans yet.

Douglas man discovers stock worth many dollars

Douglas February 24 Ashley B Packard assistant cashier at First National Bank of Douglas found a certificate of stock in United Verde Extension worth nearly 20000 as he cleared his father's desk. The elder Packard believed the stock was lost and the find brought relief and surprise.

National Forest Road Study Opens Apache Arizona

Washington reports the first national forest road under the Federal Aid Act will run within the Apache National Forest in Arizona. A survey is authorized by Secretary Houst on to determine a one mile road costing about 343,500 split between the federal government and the local community. The road aims to unlock vast industrial resources and boost tourist travel. Douglas bound.
