Dream Influences On Sleep And Dreadful Visions
A study by Mr. Lewis challenges the view that dreams stem from worry or mental trouble. He demonstrates waves of thought across the brain cause many dreams, citing experiments where sudden noises or actions triggered swift awakenings and vivid dream sequences of danger and disaster. A sleeper may relive shipwrecks, funerals, or peril as a rapid, lucid drift, making the sleep state resemble a brief voyage through terror.
