July 16 Prescott plans for prairie dog extermination on the Prescott National Forest led by Donald A Gilchrist of the U S Department of Agriculture Biological Survey. A three man party with wagon and poison oats will operate on forest land from Prescott to Williamson range until November 1915 and resume next spring. The work targets prairie dog holes with poisoned bait, limited to public forest land, with private land demonstrations allowed upon provision of materials.

Automobile Licenses Issued In State This Year
Assistant Secretary of State Ro E McGillen released figures showing 6 101 automobile licenses and 5 851 for cars issued from January 1 to June 28 with 250 licenses since then at half rate after July 1. Total vehicle license fees collected this year amount to 3 194 75 dollars, with about 1 000 dollars from half-rate July 1 onward. About 1 400 driver licenses have been issued in two and a half years. There is one motor vehicle for roughly every 37 persons including Indians.

In Tucson on July 16, a jury found Robert Fenter and Frank P. Moore guilty of second degree murder in the hanging of Hilario Leon at Greaterville. The men, Phoenix resident and deputy sheriff respectively, were reviewed by Judge Smith in the superior court after Bo’cuck yesterday afternoon. Judge Smith said sentence would be pronounced Monday, with a ten year minimum for murder in the second degree. Attorney Wright claimed a motion for a new trial would be filed.
