Charges Dismissed In Alvord Case At Tucson Court
Indictments against Burt Alvord were dismissed for want of evidence on most charges. He remains free to face a single US obstruction of mail count from Cochise County. District Attorney Gibson moved to dismiss for insufficient evidence and none of the escape records could be found. Court notes show accompanying defendants were also cleared in related counts.

Statehood in Senate fuels Arizona New Mexico split
Senator Quey pledges to stand pat claiming fifteen Republican supporters and Democratic backing to omit all three territories from statehood.
